Horizon 2020 workshop in Greece

On 20th and 21st of June 2011 it was held in Athens (Greece) a regional workshop within the framework of the Horizon 2020 capacity building programme. The event was focused in measuring carbon and water footprints.

As climate change and water scarcity pressures increase in the region, efforts to improve reporting skills on mitigation and adaptation measures are becoming all the more relevant. For that reason, the course showcased the existing Mediterranean frameworks and strategies and built the case for reducing carbon and water footprints, through measurements and indicators.

37 participants from eleven countries attended the event among professionals from governmental authorities and civil society.

The two-day regional workshop was organized by the Regional Activity Centre for Cleaner Production CP/RAC of UNEP/MAP and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), in cooperation with the Greek Government - Ministry for Environment and Climate Change and MIO-ECSDE.
